Artist statement

I chose to do the thinking skill cause and effect. I used pollution in the ocean and the impact it has. I figured that if i can pull off showing a day and night comparison of what a little bit of time can do, i could help show that actions will have direct consequences. I have had minimal experience with conventional painting and I had stumbled upon spray paint art during my research of ocean life and the pollution. This got my interest and i decided to follow this idea as best as i could. The final product came out well for the first time. After doing this i realize why most artists don't make multiple sections like i have. it creates many issues. I had started with the night side. After laying down the black paint i worked on the clouds and moon. Afterward, once it was dried i moved to the sun side and did the same just with orange-yellow blue and white. The water was the most fun but difficult. i put down lines and melded it using my finger. in hindsight, i should have used a glove. once that was down i darkened the right side and added cooler colors and the left side i added lighter and warmer colors.
